How to Prepare for Your Boudoir Session: A Guide to Feeling Confident, Calm & Ready to Shine ✨

Booking a boudoir session is a bold, beautiful step toward self-love — and it’s completely normal to feel a mix of excitement and nerves as your session approaches. Whether this is your first shoot or your fifth, preparation can help you feel confident, relaxed, and ready to fully embrace the experience.

Here’s how to prepare for your boudoir session so you can show up feeling empowered, glowing, and 100% YOU:

1. Hydrate & Rest

Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your session and aim for a good night’s sleep the night before. Your skin will thank you, and you’ll feel refreshed and radiant from the inside out.

2. Moisturize & Care for Your Skin

Gently exfoliate and moisturize your skin a day or two before. Avoid trying new skincare products right before your shoot to prevent unexpected reactions. If you're shaving or waxing, do so 24–48 hours in advance to allow your skin time to calm.

3. Choose Outfits That Make You Feel Amazing

Bring pieces that make you feel sexy, strong, and comfortable. Think lingerie, bodysuits, cozy sweaters, sheer robes, or even something meaningful like your partner’s shirt or your favorite leather jacket. Don’t forget heels, jewelry, or accessories that add a personal touch.

Need outfit inspiration? I’m always happy to help curate looks that align with your vision!

4. Skip Tight Clothing Before Your Session

To avoid skin impressions or redness, wear loose-fitting clothes to your appointment. A flowy dress, oversized tee, or robe is perfect.

5. Arrive with a Clean Face & Hair (If You’ve Booked HMUA)

If your session includes professional hair and makeup, arrive with a clean, moisturized face and dry hair. Your beauty team will take it from there and help you feel like the goddess you are.

6. Bring Snacks & Water

Stay energized and hydrated during your shoot — a light snack and water can make all the difference, especially for longer sessions.

7. Trust the Process

You don’t have to know how to pose or worry about “doing it right” — that’s my job! I’ll guide you every step of the way so you feel supported, seen, and celebrated. All you have to do is show up, breathe, and allow yourself to be present in this powerful experience.

8. Give Yourself Permission

Give yourself permission to feel sexy, awkward, joyful, vulnerable, silly — whatever shows up. This space is for you to be fully, freely yourself. And that? That’s where the magic happens. ✨

Boudoir is more than just beautiful photos — it’s a celebration of who you are, right now. You’re worthy of this experience. You’re worthy of feeling seen, powerful, and confident in your skin.

Let’s make it unforgettable. 💖
