We Rise Faster When We Stop Competing

Let’s talk about something we don’t say out loud enough:

Women are fucking exhausted from competing with each other.

Who is prettier.
Who has the better body.
Who is more successful.
Who got married first.
Who had kids.
Who doesn’t want kids.
Who is aging “better.”
Who has more followers.
Who looks happier.
Who seems to have her shit together.

And somewhere along the way, we started treating another woman’s success like evidence that we were falling behind.

Babe. Stop.

Her beauty does not take away from yours.

Her body does not make yours less worthy.

Her success does not mean you are failing.

Her confidence does not mean there is less available for you.

There is room for all of us.

And honestly? I think a lot of women have spent so much time looking sideways that they forgot to look at themselves.

You’re scrolling through someone else's life thinking, “Why don't I look like that?”

Meanwhile, someone else is looking at you thinking the exact same fucking thing.

That woman you think has it all together? She has insecurities.

The woman whose body you wish you had? She probably has parts of herself she struggles to love.

The woman who seems wildly confident? She has days where she questions herself too.

Because we are human.

And comparison has a nasty little way of convincing us that everyone else is living the life we're supposed to have.

But your life isn't supposed to look like hers.

It is supposed to look like yours.

Your body.
Your timeline.
Your version of success.
Your weird little dreams.
Your softness.
Your power.
Your fucking becoming.

And this is exactly why I believe so strongly in women having spaces where they don't have to compete.

You don't have to walk into a boudoir session looking like the woman you saw online.

You don't have to have her body, her confidence, her posing ability, or her energy.

I want you to walk in as YOU.

Nervous. Excited. Curvy. Petite. Tall. Soft. Strong. Twenty-five or sixty-five. Somewhere in between.

You don't have to earn the right to be photographed.

You don't have to become someone else first.

You just have to show up.

Because the goal isn't to look like another woman.

The goal is to finally see yourself the way you've been seeing everyone else.

And imagine what happens when we stop tearing ourselves apart trying to measure up.

We start celebrating each other.

We start cheering louder.

We start sharing opportunities instead of guarding them.

We start saying, “Girl, you look fucking incredible,” and actually meaning it.

We stop shrinking because another woman walked into the room.

We start realizing that her light doesn't make ours dimmer.

It makes the whole damn room brighter.

That is the kind of woman I want to be.

And that's the kind of woman I want beside me.

Not competing.

Not comparing.

Not secretly hoping the other woman fails so we can feel better about ourselves.

Rising. Together.

Because babe, there was never only room for one of us at the top.

There is room for all of us.

And we rise a hell of a lot faster when we stop trying to climb over each other.
