Its okay... to not always love yourself

It’s Okay to Not Always Love Yourself

We hear it everywhere — “love yourself,” “be confident,” “you’re enough.” And while these messages are beautiful and necessary, they can also feel overwhelming, especially on the days when loving yourself feels like the hardest thing to do.

Here’s the truth that rarely gets said out loud:
It’s okay to not always love yourself.
It’s okay to have days where you’re at war with your reflection. It’s okay to feel uncomfortable in your skin. It’s okay to question your worth, your beauty, or your strength. These moments don’t make you broken — they make you human.

Self-love isn’t a finish line you cross or a badge you earn. It’s not a perfect, constant state of mind. It’s a relationship — and like any relationship, it has ups and downs. There are days full of softness and pride… and there are days full of silence, doubt, or even sadness.

But here’s the most important part:
You don’t have to love yourself every moment to respect yourself.
You don’t have to feel beautiful to be worthy of care.
You don’t have to pretend to be confident just to belong.

Growth doesn’t always look like bold declarations of self-love. Sometimes it looks like showing up for yourself when it’s hard. Sometimes it’s choosing rest instead of criticism. Sometimes it’s just saying, “I’m doing the best I can today.”

And that is enough.

So if you're in a season where self-love feels far away — hold space for that. Be gentle with yourself. Let go of the pressure to always be okay. And know that even in the mess, even in the doubt, even when you can’t see it — you are still worthy. Always.

You’re not failing.
You’re healing.
You’re learning to stay.

And that’s beautiful, too.
